On November 23, 2013 my son Myles Marable was hit by a car after dropping his cousin off to her dorm at FIT in New York. When the EMS found him on the street, he had no vital signs and they bought him back. He suffered traumatic brain injury and a fracture right leg. He was in a medically induced coma at Kings County Hospital for 17 days and in ICU for 27 days; a total of 35 days. We moved to Rusk-NYU for 51 days for his rehab where he had to relearn how to talk, walk and all the everyday things we may take for granted. The doctors initially told us that Myles would be in a coma and semi-conscious for the rest of his life. I asked God one time to save my son as I leaned over him on the gurney in the emergency room.
For 86 days, I witnessed God work and mountains move! Myles was released from Rusk-NYU on Feb 20, 2014. We continued with speech, occupational and physically therapy until October 31, 2014. On November 1, 2014, we dropped Myles off at Brandon Hall in Atlanta. Although Myles was not able to graduate with his class at Poly Prep last year however he will graduate in May and receive his high school diploma!
Myles is my hero and inspiration! I see God in Myles! Together, we are sharing his story in a documentary film entitled, "Standing Next to God". We want to share his journey and inspire families who are going through a traumatic, life changing situation. Myles is still healing however he has beat the odds and continues to move forward in his young life.
On January 16th Myles turned 19 years old and I'm beyond grateful to have him here with us!He entered this world premature, weighing 2 lbs. 1 ounce. The doctors told us that he would not survive.
I believe God has a plan for Myles!
I ask you to make a birthday donation towards this amazing and awesome journey back to health and life for Myles! We made it through with the prayers and love of all our family and friends.
We thank you from our heart!
